Jimmyfish game

Yanyun CHEN / Sara CHONG / Jason POH / Jachin POUSSON / Shyalala

Sara Chong and Yanyun Chen collaborated with Build and Connect, Jachin Pousson, Shyalala and Nexus Singapore to create an awesome little flash game called JimmyFish.

Story goes as Jimmy is stuck unhappily in a fish costume his mum picked for him. While she thought it was funny since Jimmy’s world has been raining fish for a while, Jimmy doesn’t agree and is desperate to change out of it. As a player, you have to help Jimmy find new ways to save energy in his home, which will earn him eco-dollars to exchange for a better costume. More money means cooler outfits! And that would also improve the weather outdoors.

Comments from Jury of 15th Japan Media Arts Festival

“An old-fashioned sideways-scroll action Flash game with an ecology message. As different rooms scroll by, players are awarded points for switching off lights and other electrical appliances that have been left on. Special mention should be made of the appealing movement of the main character, Jimmy, in his fish costume and the high quality of the animation. Light entertainment characteristic of Flash animation in game that is habit-forming.”

February 2012, Tembusu artists-in-residence Stick and Balloon went on an epic adventure to Tokyo to attend Japan Media Arts Festival for their game entry Jimmyfish. Here's a little video clip on their trip.
